The IBS secret: You don’t have to suffer like this

the IBS secret

The IBS secret is this: You are not supposed to suffer constantly like this with IBS.

I used to. I had chronic IBS for a quarter of a century! But there is another way – without meds and without restrictive diets.

If you have been the traditional IBS route and you are continuing to suffer, maybe you need to consider a different approach.Through my different articles I want to show you a different approach to dealing with and working towards recovering from you IBS. It is one I have developed and I have found gets results.

Everyone thought the world was flat – until they found out it wasn’t…

This approach is a complete 180° move away from what you have been used to hearing and doing.

So I have come up with a metaphor, a pyramid, which I hope can help illustrate the principle and open up your mind to new perspectives.

Are you taking meds, tweaking your diet, rushing to the toilet, and suffering?

IBS: Holding up the pyramid

When you have IBS it is like you are wandering around propping up a heavy pyramid. Just one point of the pyramid is touching the ground, and you are having to prop it up all the time, compensating as it leans to one side, then the other.

The situation feels fragile and difficult to control.

All of the pyramid’s weight is bearing down on you. So it takes you a great deal of energy to try to stay balanced and not let the pyramid topple over and squash you.

You’re constantly worried that the pyramid will slip, that you can’t keep control of it. And you fear what will happen as a result. So you cling onto it as best you can.

This situation is uncomfortable, and can feel oppressive and overwhelming. You become a slave to it.

You’re doing it that way because you thought you had to.

Who told you that you had to keep the pyramid propped up?

Why did you even start doing that?

You’re doing it that way because you thought you had to.

You didn’t know what else to do.

It’s what felt logical.

And all advice has gone in that direction.

The question is: Is it working for you?

This is the IBS secret:

Instead of fighting to prop up the pyramid, if you allow yourself to slowly put the pyramid down, it can naturally sit squarely and solidly on its bottom.

The IBS secret: the grounded approach

All of the weight is spread evenly and solidly over the entire base of the pyramid, not on just one corner. The pyramid becomes stable and solid.

By redistributing the weight of the pyramid, you become free of having to hold it up. You no longer have to compensate.

This frees up your energy for living your life to the full, doing what is important to you in your life.

For me this equals opening up, learning why your body is reacting the way it is, and making the necessary changes so that you no longer need your IBS as a warning system.

This is the IBS secret:

When the pyramid can’t slip any more, you are in control.

Allow yourself to move away from people and treatments that are not getting results, and propping up the pyramid.

Go for solutions to your IBS that let you put the pyramid down.
