The IBS Interrupt™ Process is a proprietary process I use to help long-term IBS sufferers interrupt the cycle of their IBS symptoms & flares.

It works with the deeper IBS triggers that no-one talks about – but are KEY to interrupting your IBS triggers and the cascade of physical symptoms they set in motion.

The roots of the IBS Interrupt™ Process

Before I learnt to understand my long-term IBS, I was so sick of suffering from IBS symptoms and flares. I wondered why my body kept malfunctioning, and why, despite many attempts to improve my diet, nothing much improved.

That was before researching OCD and neuroplasticity, and realising that my IBS symptoms were the body’s somatic reaction to certain perceived threats or stressors.

Certain foods I had eaten while feeling strong emotions had been red-flagged by my system, making digestion even more complicated.

I realised that each of the IBS symptoms specifically corresponds to the fight, fight, flee or fawn response. This explains why different people have different symptoms, and a unique cycle of IBS symptoms.

Far from malfunctioning, IBS symptoms are actually proof that your nervous system is working really well! Even if it’s not in the way you would like.

To understand this you need to discover more about the subconscious mind. We are a learning machine. And anything we have experienced has been categorised by our analytical mind, and filed deep in the subconscious mind.

This includes our identity, our beliefs, (including what we believe about our health, and what is possible for us) our memories, thought patterns, habitual actions, and what we have learned and observed about cultural expectations.

Our nervous system works very closely with the subconscious mind. Their top priority is survival and safety – keeping us alive.

Anywhere our system picks up any indicators of strong reactions or upset, these are compared to our perceptions of previous experiences. And can set off the alarm.

The IBS Interrupt™ process empowers you to discover, and interrupt the triggers that have been identified as threats by the subconscious mind. Those specific stressors that are regularly triggering your nervous system via the gut-brain axis – and creating IBS symptoms. 

The 3 steps of the IBS Interrupt™ Process

This first step focuses on identifying what is creating a state of physiological alarm in your gut and nervous system. Looking for the unique triggers that are setting off your Irritable Bowel symptoms.

And becoming aware of the unique physical and emotional patterns that conventional medical treatment tends to miss.

This step bridges the gap between the brain and the gut by teaching you how to somatically “interrupt” stress signals – before they manifest as digestive symptoms.

Using a deeper, repeatable neuro-somatic process, to systematically disconnect the emotional patterns that keep signalling threat to the nervous system.

Finally, step 3 focuses on noticing the incremental shifts and improvement, and finally witnessing definitive breaks in the chronic cycle of IBS symptoms.

As the subconscious mind changes perception around triggers, it registers more safety. Therefore, the nervous system no longer creates a fight, flight, flee or fawn reaction in the form of somatic IBS symptoms.
