Change your mind about IBS - books that help open up health and recovery

On this week of Thanksgiving, I’m giving thanks to some of the people whose books helped me to change my mind about IBS!

As you know, I decided to get off the traditional medical IBS route, and challenge what I had been told about health and recovery. And embark on a new journey of discovery and experimentation.

Each of these precious resources brought me a valuable new perspective on life and health.

1) Reinventing your Life

Reinventing Your Life - Young and Klosko

The premise of the book is this: Become aware of the patterns in your life so you can interrupt them and make different choices.

This was my very first “self-help” book, written by two experienced psychologists, Young and Klosko. Reading through it, I discovered some of the familiar patterns I was experiencing in my life. And even some of my IBS triggers!

Not only that, I could begin to see the life traps of other family members. And even begin to understand why the act as they do. It was truly a revelation for me!

2) Heart of the Mind

Heart of the Mind by Connirae and Steve Andreas

Not only did this book change my mind about IBS, it showed me that it is possible to change our perception, and our experience of a specific situation.

It was written by Steve and Connirae Andreas, early researchers into Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).

It found its way to me when I was open to see what is possible in the healing arena.

The book showcases 21 situations in which NLP can be used to change or reverse problems including trauma, allergies, phobias and conflicts. It blew my mind!

3) Healing and Recovery

Change your mind about IBS with Healing and recovery by David R Hawkins

This is a very comprehensive eye-opening book written by the late David R Hawkins, a renowned psychiatrist, clinician and researcher. His research was not based on just theory. He had been faced with, and overcome, many physical conditions himself.

This book introduced me to the link between energy frequency and emotions. And particularly how different emotional states create a corresponding perception of reality.

4) Sacred Choices

Sacred Choices by Christel Nani

Written by a gifted Medical Intuitive, Christel Nani, this book opened my eyes to the power of belief.

Especially the beliefs that are passed on through families and societies unquestioned.

She examines how beliefs such as “Suffering is noble” can keep us trapped in suffering. And how health problems can arise when one part of us wants one thing, but our family beliefs dictate another.

Change your mind about IBS through experiments

These books brought me incredible insights.

However, all this remains deeply interesting and theoretical, until you start playing with the ideas for yourself.

Don’t have time, or you’re unsure where to start?

I created this 14-day journey, to help you start exploring and experimenting for yourselfin just 10 minutes a day.
